Introducing East Coast Pride: One Love by the Seaside, a celebration of diversity and inclusivity on the East Lincolnshire coast

Updated: Jan 21

East Coast Pride is proud to announce a historic inaugural event, ‘One Love by the Seaside,’ a celebration of love, diversity, and inclusivity, set to take place on Saturday, 7 September 2024, in Skegness on the East Lincolnshire Coast, UK.

The free event, hosted in Skegness, welcomes everyone of all ages to join this joyous occasion. Attendees can expect a day filled with an exciting live main stage showcasing acts from the Lincolnshire coast and around the UK, including community groups across Lincolnshire. This will sit alongside activities across various zones, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Skegness coastline.

East Coast Pride is more than just an event on the coast; it's a statement. It stands for love, respect, and unity, providing a safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

Volunteers are curating this brand-new event for the area to empower, showcase and bring together the LGBTQIA+ and broader community of Lincolnshire and the surrounding areas of the East Coast. The annual celebration of love and community plans to offer a safe and inclusive space for community engagement, not just on the day but throughout the year, by providing support and links to the LGBTQIA+ community along the coast.

East Coast Pride will release more exciting information about the event’s zones spread throughout Skegness and performers and activities planned for the day-long event in the coming months. Anyone wishing to find out more can visit www.eastcoastpride.co.uk.

Matt Dickinson (He/Him), Volunteer Event and Pride Producer said: “The event, which we plan to run annually, has the goal of empowering the LGBTQIA+ community in Lincolnshire and surrounding East Coast areas by fostering an inclusive environment that champions equality, celebrates diversity and facilitates continuous education and awareness about the unique challenges that the community faces.

“I have been blown away by the community's engagement in our planning stages. It has been humbling to receive such amazing support from businesses, sponsors, community leaders and elected officials, and it’s amazing to see how much support East Coast Pride has, even though it’s in the early stages of planning. This showcases how needed an event like East Coast Pride is for the coast.”

East Coast Pride’s volunteer team actively wants to hear from those who wish to be involved with the event or from businesses or groups who want to support or be involved.

East Coast Pride aims to be a beacon of hope and inclusivity, offering a creative platform for advocating equality and diversity. The event and its volunteers are dedicated to tirelessly working towards the elimination of discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

Join East Coast Pride in shaping a world that celebrates every rainbow colour.
